Image

We are Indians, we know our education system, from which we take education through it. Are you thinking that it is best education system? Let’s see, each education system has its own way, culture. It has some good- some bad impacts too.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. The history of the Indian Education System is rich, and widely revered. India started with the system of having a ‘guru’, who once accepted a person as a student, would engage him in his day to day life. The student would live with the guru and help in household activities. Most of the subject matter was related to concepts that could be applied in day to day life. Now, The Indian Education System has taken a turn, and is completely different from what used to prevail. We now have several boards, depending on the state. Each board has a separate syllabus, some of which are advanced, and some not so much. Due to a lot of factors, the Indian Educations System problems are vast, and have been criticized by many.

The vast area of subjects covered in our education system ensures that students have knowledge about as much as they can. Some subjects teach students about the long lost culture of India, which they should be aware of. Since students learn so many subjects, some of them find it easier to determine what field they want to pursue a career in. Subjects like Economics and English help students in their day to day life. But studying only these subjects it’s not useful for all. Everyone wants to do career, self-development, growth. Who they have willing to take higher education and can afford to go abroad they are going to abroad for pursuing higher studies from India. You can't believe but this number is quite large. (See fig-1)

As per government data, there a total of 86 countries where Indian students are studying. 36 of these are from Asia, 32 from Europe, 8 from Africa, 6 from South America and 2 each from North America & Australia. More than 50% of the Indian students study in North America. More than 90000 Indian students study in Asia as well as Australia. Though Indian students are in 32 different countries of Europe. ( See fig-2)
In 2018, an estimated 5.53 lakh Indian students are studying abroad in 86 countries as per government data. Every year number is increasing by 8% to 10%
